Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has described Kevin De Bruyne as one of the best players that he has ever seen after the Belgian produced an outstanding display in his side’s 4-0 victory away to Feyenoord in the Champions League tonight.

De Bruyne has been hugely impressive in the early stages of this season and continued to thrive tonight as he provided an assist for John Stones’ second goal and retained possession extremely well, completing 91 per cent of the passes that he attempted.

Speaking post-match, Guardiola said: “Kevin is one of the best players I’ve ever seen in my life. We are so proud and so happy he is with us.”

Kevin De Bruyne was successful with 91 per cent of his attempted passes against Feyenoord.

De Bruyne also succeeded with both of the take-ons that he attempted and caused all manner of problems for the Feyenoord defence as he frequently pushed forwards to excellent effect.

Guardiola has an array of stars at his disposal and has managed some of the greatest players of recent times, especially when his spell at Barcelona is taken into consideration, with his comments emphasising just how highly he regards De Bruyne.

City return to Premier League action on Saturday when they face Watford away.
