Kylian Mbappe ready to make PSG debut at Metz on Friday night as coach Unai Emery plans front three with Neymar and Edinson Cavani

Neymar and Mbappe appeared to get along very well as they training together on Wednesday
Kylian Mbappe is fit and ready to make his Paris Saint-Germain debut against Metz in Ligue 1 on Friday night, according to his manager Unai Emery.

The 18-year-old striker, signed initially on a one-year loan from Monaco ahead of a £166million purchase next summer, trained with his new team-mates for the first time on Wednesday afternoon.

And he is expected to line-up for PSG when they travel to the Stade Saint-Symphorien for their fifth match of the league season.

Emery said: 'He is ready. He was with the team on Monday and Tuesday but as he played with France, he just made some soft training sessions.

'He has played, he is in good form, I think he is ready to be in the group and to play with us, and that's what we really want the most.'

Mbappe did play Monaco's Ligue 1 opener against Toulouse on August 4 but that proved to be his final appearance for the club.

The teenager played 15 minutes of France's 4-0 World Cup qualifying win over Holland, scoring the final goal, and then 59 minutes of their frustrating 0-0 draw with Luxembourg.

Mbappe is set to line up alongside world record £198m signing Neymar and Edinson Cavani in a three-pronged forward line. He will most likely start on the wing with Cavani in the centre.

Emery added: 'He is an attacking player. We have all the players we want for the attack now.

'And we have worked to understand how we want them to play, the positions. We know he can play as the striker first, but he can play on the left wing or even on the right wing.

'I have talked with Kylian and we have talked about that, how we want him to play, but always thinking of the team first.'

After Metz, PSG open their Champions League campaign with a visit to Celtic on Tuesday night, before hosting Lyon in the league next Sunday.
