Real Madrid are close to finalising a deal to sign teenage Brazilian wonderkid Rodrigo Rodrigues on a six-year contract.
The Gremio Novorizontino starlet is currently only 17, so will have to wait until his next birthday - in April 2018 - before joining the Spanish giants.
But Rodrigo arrived in Madrid this week to have his medical ahead of next year's move, according to Novorizontino president Genilson da Rocha Santos.
'Rodrigo is in Madrid, having a medical examination, and if there is no unforeseen event, he will sign for six seasons with Real Madrid,' Genilson told AS.
Real have a long history of signing Brazilian players and have had plenty of success with the likes of Ronaldo, Roberto Carlos, Kaka and more recently Marcelo becoming firm favourites at the Bernabeu.
Rodrigo has a lot to do if he is to emulate those players, but he has already made a name for himself in Brazil.
He made his Novorizontino debut aged just 16 and was briefly taken on loan by Palmeiras who gave him the chance to play in the Under 17 Club World Cup.
Rodrigo shone at the tournament and scored four goals in five games against teams such as Inter Milan and Benfica.
These displays caught the eye of Real and Genilson said: 'It's a source of pride to see him shine in a tournament in Europe and for a club such as Real Madrid to be interested in him.'
On the youngster's style of play, Genilson added: 'Rodrigo is a complete attacker, who can play out wide or in the middle.
'He's quick out of the blocks, explosive, and has evolved a lot since he started here at Novorizontino when he was 14 years old.'
