APC presidency will return Soku oil wells to Rivers -Amaechi
Rivers State Governor, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, on Thursday asked the people of the state to vote the Peoples Democratic Party out of power in 2015.
Amaechi explained that the people of the state were losing Soku oil wells to Bayelsa State because President Goodluck Jonathan is from the latter state (Bayelsa).
The governor maintained that the lost oil wells would be returned to Rivers State if a new President emerged in the next political dispensation.
He said one of the reasons why he left the PDP was as a result of the neglect of the state by the Jonathan-led Federal Government.
Amaechi pointed out that the people of the state had suffered victimisation due to the absence of Federal Government projects in Rivers.
Explaining that the development made him to join the All Progressives Congress, Amaechi urged the people of the state to be politically conscious and become agents of change.
The governor, who spoke during an interactive session with the state medical doctors in Port Harcourt, described the APC as a party that held the light to the country’s rapid development, saying the party would reduce the prevalence of poverty in the country.
