Chelsea have reportedly prepared a sensational bid for Monaco striker Radamel Falcao that includes £66m plus Fernando Torres, according to Le10Sport.
Chelsea’s struggles in the strike department are well documented, and Jose Mourinho’s frustration has apparently reached boiling point. Fernando Torres has enjoyed something of a rejuvenation, but this has only pleased Mourinho in the sense that his sale-value will have increased.
The Portuguese is now ready to “throw the kitchen sink” at the problem, and introduce a British Transfer Fee bid for the Colombian star.
Falcao is reportedly unhappy at the Ligue 1 side, with issues surrounding his mammoth wages frustrating the striker.
The 27-year old is apparently keen on a move to England, and having scored nine goals in fourteen league fixtures this year, he may be just the man to cure Chelsea’s goalscoring woes.
Only four of Chelsea’s 21 Premier League goals have come from strikers, and there is no doubt that reinforcements are needed. Fernando Torres has enjoyed something of a rejuvenation, but this has only pleased Mourinho in the sense that his sale-value will have increased.
