‘Bitter’ Paul Pogba has no intention of returning to Man Utd
Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba will reject the advances of Manchester United out of bitterness at his treatment by Sir Alex Ferguson during his previous stint at Old Trafford, according to reports.
The Independent claims that the France international has ruled out a return to United because he feels a “deep grievance” towards the club that allowed him to leave at the end of his contract 18 months ago.
The 20-year-old felt he wasn’t given enough opportunities under Ferguson and has since established himself as one of Europe’s top midfielders.
That has led to new manager David Moyes picking Pogba out as one of the top targets to improve his midfield, but it appears that he is unlikely to lure the youngster back to Old Trafford.
The point was rammed home by Pogba’s Juventus team-mate Gigi Buffon, who accused United of being “blind” for letting the starlet slip through their fingers.
He said: “Pogba is one of those players who leaves you speechless.
“When he came we didn’t know him but after only three or four training sessions we were impressed by his enormous qualities. My team-mates and me looked at each other as of to say, ‘Are they blind in Manchester?”
The Manchester Evening News also acknowledges that a January move is unlikely, but is more optimistic about the prospect of Moyes being able to entice Pogba into a return to United in the summer
