Imo Wants Dethroned Monarch Out Of Confab
The deputy chief of staff to Imo state governor and former information commissioner Chief Chinedu Offor yesterday said the former Chairman of Imo state council of traditional rulers Chief Eze Cletus Ilomuanya should withdraw from the national conference.
Chief Offor in a statement said, the monarch was nominated to the conference on the platform of traditional rulers and now that he has been dethroned he should withdraw for another serving traditional ruler to take his place.
He said Imo state government had dethroned the monarch by withdrawing the certificate with which Ilomuanya was appointed as the traditional ruler in the state.
Offor said the clarification became necessary because of delegate Anayo Nnebe’s observation that the conference should forestall further intervention of state governments in traditional title matters.
