Davido’s good run of awards has suffered a setback.
Having begun the year on a winning streak, bagging awards such as the BET, NEA and MTV, the pop star failed to pick up anything at the Channel O African Music Video Awards, which held on Saturday, November 29, in South Africa.
Davido lost out in the five different categories he was nominated. He lost the Most Gifted Dance Video to South Africa’s Busiswa, the Most Gifted Afro Pop Video to Tanzania’s Diamond, while Olamide clinched the Most Gifted West African Video at his expense.
South Africa’s Casper Nyovest went home with both the Most Gifted Male and Most Gifted Video of the Year Awards leaving Davido with nothing.
Omo Baba Olowo, however, did not feel disappointed as he went on the social media, Instagram, to thank his fans and team saying “shout out to team Davido, we didn’t win yesterday. It happens, but trust me we are coming back harder and harder. I love you guys for all the support.”
