Rivers State PDP Governorship Candidate, Barrister Nyesom Wike on Monday led senior PDP chieftains to Opobo/Nkoro LGA where he was endorsed by the traditional rulers and political leaders to govern Rivers State.
Thousands of Opobo/Nkoro LGA people turned out in their numbers who escorted Barrister Wike to the Palace of King Jaja of Opobo, King Douglas Jaja where the traditional offered his traditional blessing for Barrister Wike’s governorship aspiration.
All the political leaders of the area announced a joint endorsement of Barrister Wike ahead of the APC Governorship Candidate, Mr Dakuku Peterside who hails from the area.
King Jaja after offering his blessing to Barrister Wike urged him to ensure that he executes key projects outlined in his development blueprint.
At the PDP Governorship rally at Opobo/Nkoro LGA, Barrister Nyesom Wike declared that he will introduce transformational leadership to improve the lives of Rivers people.
He said that his administration will complete the Unity road leading to Opobo/Nkoro LGA as a means of boosting the economy of the area.
According to him: “The unity road will be completed in the interest of developing the economy of Opobo/Nkoro.
“We shall connect Opobo/Nkoro communities to electricity, develop the general hospital in the area and also embark on shoreline protection”.
He assured the Opobo/Nkoro Traditional council that he will respect the traditional values of the people and promote the culture of the area.
On President Goodluck Jonathan’s reelection, Barrister Wike said that a second term for the President will serve the interest of all Nigerians.
Speaking at the rally, Leader of Opobo/Nkoro LGA, Senator Adewari Pepple declared that Wike’s victory will start in the LGA as they fully support the PDP.
Former member Representing Andoni/Opobo/Nkoro Federal Constituency, Mr Chris Berewari announced the formal endorsement of Barrister Wike by leaders of the area to take the state to higher level.
Former Rivers State PDP Governorship Candidate, Sylva Opusunju said he and his supporters have been integrated into the Wike Campaign Organization to ensure a PDP victory in the area.
