Latest reports are indicating that Arsenal have been given the green light to complete a deal for one of their main transfer targets.
After last season’s Premier League disappointment which saw the Gunners finish behind champions Leicester City, Arsene Wenger is expected to strengthen his squad with the signing of an experienced defender.
Napoli star Kalidou Koulibaly has been frequently linked with a move to the Emirates stadium as well as Chelsea and Manchester United.
But according to Goal.com, the Gunners are permitted by Napoli to speak to the 25-year-old as long as they submit a transfer fee in region of $52.5 million (£40 million).
The report claims that Koulibaly, has been “offered to several major European clubs, including Arsenal” as Wenger closes in on a deal for a Bolton Wanderers’ young centre-back Rob Holding.
The Senegalese international, who was rated as one of the players of the season in Serie A last term, has three more years remaining on his current contract.
