Alexi Iwobi has hailed Thierry Henry as his favourite Arsenal player of all time.

The Nigeria midfielder scored his first international goal on Sunday night as the Super Eagles eased to a 2-1 win against Zambia in their 2018 World Cup qualifying.

The Arsenal star has made an impressive start to the 2016-17 Premier League campaign after making three assists in five top-flight games for the north London side.

Iwobi has managed to established himself as a first-team regular under Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger after breaking into the Frenchman’s starting line-ip last term.

And the 20-year-old lifted the lid what Arsenal legend inspires the playmaker ahead of the Gunners’ home clash against Swansea City at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

“Thierry Henry – definitely. The goals he got, the player he was, and he’s still advising me until today,” Iwobi told FourFourTwo during a question and answer session on Twitter.

Arsenal are in third place in the Premier League table and two points behind Pep Guardiola’s side after seven top-flight games so far.

The north London side have won their last five Premier League games after a 4-3 loss to Liverpool and a goalless draw with Leicester City in their opening two fixtures.
