Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has accused his predecessor and the Minister of Solid Minerals, Kayode Fayemi, of mounting pressure on the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Walter Onnoghen to review the judgment of the Supreme Court that declared him winner of the June 21, 2014 election.

Fayose alleged that Fayemi and some All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftains in Abuja and Ekiti have been boasting that he would be removed from office via the Supreme Court.

The governor, who made the allegation in Ado Ekiti yesterday during a press conference, boasted that the people of Ekiti and all Nigerians would truncate the devilish plot from materialising.

Fayose said: “Having realised how difficult it will be for him to clinch APC ticket not to even talk of winning the election proper, Fayemi has opted to seek power through the backdoor, claiming that he already has the backing of three newly appointed justices of the Supreme Court, the DSS and other top organs of government to force the Supreme Court to review its judgment on the Ekiti State 2014 governorship election.

“As I address you today, there is credible information that Fayemi has provided fund for the filing of the matter at the Supreme Court.’’

Reacting to the allegation, the media aide to the Minister, Mr. Yinka Oyebode, in a telephone chat said, “The Minister is a serious minded person and we did not consider it appropriate to dignify Fayose with any response.”
