On the same night that Real Madrid dropped two points in a 1-1 draw with Atletico, Barcelona failed to capitalise in the worst way possible.
Neymar was sent off in the second half, having picked up a controversial yellow card after a problem with his boots.
For the record, Neymar has been struggling with his footwear in recent weeks. Nike may want to look into that.
Will Neymar miss El Clasico?
On April 23, Real Madrid will host Barcelona at the Santiago Bernbaeu in El Clasico.
After collecting two bookings, Neymar is definitely out of Barca’s next match at home to Real Sociedad, but will he miss the Madrid game too?
Marca have raised fears that may happen, as they report that after Neymar was sent off against Malaga he had an incident with the fourth official,
Neymar reportedly applauded the official in a sarcastic manner, and that could see his punishment increased.
For the record, Spanish radio station Cope are reporting Neymar will 100% miss El Clasico. They say he’ll receive a 1 game ban for the dismissal, plus a 2-3 game ban for clapping at the fourth official after being sent off.
