China: Video of punch-up between nurses in operating theatre goes viral

CHINESE social media is abuzz over CCTV footage from a local hospital showing health workers having a physical fight while a patient is being worked on in an operating theatre.

In the video shared widely on social media, two nurses are shown to be having a verbal dispute before the female worker swings at the man. He proceeds to repeatedly punch her in the head until she falls to the floor.


The incident occurred at a hospital Lankao County in China’s central Henan Province. Only one surgeon is left working as other staff rush to break up the fight.

Police are currently investigating the incident, claiming that the operation had already concluded when the fight broke out, reported Shanghailist.

Chinese netizens reportedly mocked the police statement, as the video appears to show that an operation is still in progress.
