The newspaper claims that the Toffees have the defender on their summer transfer radar and that he could be potential competition for Leighton Baines at Goodison Park.
It is understood that the attack-minded left-back is valued at around £32million by Leverkusen and he still has three years remaining on his deal with them.
Good move for Everton?
Wendell is a speed machine that has proven himself to be a real force in the Bundesliga and could be the long-term successor to Baines.
The 24-year-old is a left-sided flyer that loves to bomb forward from defence and looks a strong fit with the Premier League.
He managed three goals and supplied three assists in 30 appearances during the recent season for Leverkusen, making him a perfect modern day full-back.
His £30million-plus price tag is a very large one to pay, but that is the current state of the market and he could still be a great investment for the Merseyside club at that fee.

Likely to happen?
Everton’s interest in Wendell seems legit as they have to find an alternative to Baines in their squad, but right now are yet to make any formal approach for the defender.
His valuation would suggest Leverkusen would prefer to keep the Brazilian and it remains to be seen whether he can be tempted with a switch to the Premier League.
