MANCHESTER UNITED have reportedly held talks over signing Raphael Varane.
Jose Mourinho is gearing up for what could be a busy summer window for Manchester United.
The Portuguese is expected to be handed a sizeable kitty to splash out on new recruitments.
Recent reports had suggested United are concerned about David De Gea’s future.
It was thought Mourinho had demanded to sign Varane AND Alvaro Morata to sweeten the deal.
But now, Spanish news outlet Don Balon claim Mourinho has already begun negotiations with Varane’s representatives.
It is said that he is a big fan of Varane, although Zinedine Zidane could determine whether the Frenchman stays or goes.
The report goes on to suggest that Mourinho is not aware of United’s interest in Morata.
It is said the Spaniard will link up with Antonio Conte at Chelsea ahead of next season.
Conte is in the market for a striker, as fears grow over Diego Costa's future.
