This is who Lionel Messi blames for Barcelona's Champions League exit to Juventus

Barcelona Lionel Messi
LIONEL MESSI blames Barcelona sporting director Robert Fernandez for their Champions League quarter-final exit to Juventus, according to reports in Spain.

Barcelona were knocked out of the competition after a goalless draw with Juventus last night.

The Serie A giants won 3-0 on aggregate after first leg goals from Paulo Dybala (2) and Giorgio Chiellini.

Barcelona must now turn their attentions to Sunday's crunch clash with Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The Catalan giants go into El Clasico trailing Real by three points at the top of La Liga, having played one game more.

All is not well with Luis Enrique's side with many tipping their European exit to be the end of an era.

And Spanish outlet Don Balon claims Lionel Messi blames Fernandez for their plight.

The Argentina international reportedly feels the club's transfer policy has left much to be desired in recent seasons.

Just last summer, Barcelona invested in Lucas Digne, Andre Gomes and Paco Alcacer

All three players have toiled at the Nou Camp and, with Enrique leaving at the end of the season, could be on borrowed time.

Reports in the past have claimed Messi wants Gomes sold when the summer transfer window reopens.

And it could be a summer of change in Catalonia should they fail to retain their league title
