Marseille are aware that Giroud’s playing time is limited and with the future of Arsene Wenger up in the air, were ready to pounce on the situation.

However, Michael Manuello (Giroud’s agent) has spoken to Foot Mercato (which has been transcribed by The Express) to reassure Arsenal fans that the 30-year-old will stay loyal to North London.
Nothing is true. There is no contact with Marseille. Olivier wants to help his team qualify for the Champions League.
When we know exactly what Arsene Wenger is doing, we will think about what is possible and what is not possible.
Things have not changed since his contract extension. Our desire is to be at Arsenal for the long-term. The aim for Olivier is to go as far as possible to do great things there.
So there you go, we’ve got Giroud for as long as Wenger is here basically and whether you take that as good news or bad news, one thing is clear.
With Giroud still in the picture, Arsenal will be reluctant to go out there and find a top class striker that they can pay in excess of £100,000 a week.

Giroud currently earns £85,000 a week following the extension he signed back in the Christmas period, a decision many Arsenal fans didn’t agree with.
As long as he’s here, he’ll continue to play second fiddle to the likes of Alexis and Welbeck, so why would Arsenal not cash in while they still can?
The likes of Mertesacker, Koscielny, Cazorla and Cech are all around to offer advice to the younger players so I think it’s time Giroud went out on a high.
