Jose Mourinho signals Man United preference: He’d sign Chelsea star over Gareth Bale
JOSE MOURINHO wants to sign a winger for Manchester United, and his clear preference is Chelsea star Willian, according to reports.
Manchester United are expected to spend heavily once again in the summer.
Jose Mourinho is compiling a list of summer targets and is eager to strengthen in every area of the pitch.
Atletico Madrid hitman Antoine Griezmann has been sounded out as the club’s top target.
Insofar as wingers go, Mourinho has identified his ideal signing.
According to The Independent, Mourinho would take Chelsea’s Willian over any other player - even Gareth Bale.
Express Sport understands the Portuguese boss is a fan of the free-kick expert and will explore the option of trying to sign him.
Mourinho tried to land Willian last summer, but the Blues closed the door on a transfer.
Chelsea however, are ready to listen to offers, although it is unclear how much they would let him leave for.
Willian has found himself reduced to a bit-part role under Antonio Conte this term.
Other claims have suggested Bale is willing to head to Old Trafford, but Mourinho remains ‘undecided’.
