Man United Morata bid rejected

Manchester United have had a £52.4m (€60m) bid rejected for Real Madrid's Alvaro Morata, according to reports.

Real are believed to want £78m for the 24-year-old, while the deal is said to exclude United goalkeeper David de Gea, who has been heavily linked with the Spanish giants.

The Spanish international registered 20 goals in total for Real last season , and is in his second stint with the club after moving to Juventus for £17.5m in 2014.

Morata spent two seasons in Italy, winning two Serie A titles, two Coppa Italia titles and falling one short as the Old Lady were beaten 3-1 by Barcelona in 2015's Champions League final, with the striker scoring his side's consolation.

Madrid exercised a buy-back clause to bring Morata back for £26.2m in June 2016.
