Manchester United FC transfer news: Red Devils consider summer enquiry for Chelsea star Willian
Willian, the Chelsea star, has been a target of United’s since Jose Mourinho’s appointment at Old Trafford in summer 2016, as Mourinho and the Brazil forward are close friends.
Mourinho was in charge of Chelsea when Willian arrived at Stamford Bridge in 2013, and only now is the 29-year-old putting in the kind of performances he showed under the Portuguese in west London.
Just the other day, following Man United's defeat of Chelsea in the Premier League, Mourinho praised Willian. "Do you want to talk about Willian?" he said. "Top, cream of the crop, he’s amazing."
Willian was in-and-out of Antonio Conte’s team in the first half of the season, and Man United made an enquiry for him in January – which Chelsea quickly rejected.
However, the Daily Mail suggest the Red Devils will return for Willian at the end of 2017/18, as Mourinho would like to add another creative player to his first-team squad.
It is claim Chelsea may sell Willian this summer as he turns 30 in August, though any deal sanctioned would be for a ‘premium price’.
